Braiden McGregor exited the New York Jets' Week 4 contest against the Chicago Bears early due to injury. He suffered a torn pectoral muscle during the game, a 23-12 Jets loss, and will miss the rest of the 2026 season. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the news. McGregor will soon be moved to injured reserve and remain there for the remainder of the 2026 season. The 25-year-old appeared in all four games to start the season and played a rotational role on the Jets' defensive line. He recorded seven tackles total, two solo and five assisted, including two tackles in the Week 4 game versus the Bears. McGregor logged 42 defensive snaps and 46 special-teams snaps on the season. Following the loss the Jets stood at 1-3 while the Bears moved to 3-1. What is contested: No factual disputes found across sources.

“Jets DE McGregor reportedly out for season”Tough break for him personally but the whole rotation is already stretched thin without that production.
Losing McGregor weakens the run defense at a bad time, they might need to sign a veteran soon.
This pec tear is going to leave the Jets edge group way too thin for the rest of the year.
