Unbeaten Indiana, Nebraska Set for Big Ten Clash

Undefeated Indiana and Nebraska, both 5-0, meet in Lincoln in a major Big Ten test for the No. 7 Hoosiers and the defending national champions. Indiana’s powerful rushing attack, led by Turbo Richard and Lee Beebe Jr., will face a Nebraska defense praised for its size, athleticism and ability to pressure quarterbacks; the Hoosiers’ offensive line will also have to handle a loud Memorial Stadium crowd and may rely on silent-count communication. Nebraska, meanwhile, will look to establish its own run game and get quarterback Anthony Colandrea—who can make plays with his arm and legs—into scoring position against an Indiana defense allowing just 12.5 points per game. Both teams have been strong on offense and defense, but the matchup is especially significant for Nebraska, which is seeking a statement win against a ranked opponent after a long drought in such victories.
