Zelenskyy says Russia may share jet-powered drone tech with North Korea
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at an Oct. 4, 2026 press conference in Kyiv that Russia is sharing jet-powered drone technology with North Korea. Asked if Moscow had shared the tech, he replied, "Yes, of course," and said Russia is sharing "all the technologies," calling it "a very dangerous moment." He linked that to North Korea's earlier supplies of artillery shells and missiles. Russia's Geran-4 and Geran-5 reach up to 500 and 600 km/h, and jet-powered drones made up about two-thirds of some recent Kyiv attacks. On Sept. 26 he said Russia plans $12 billion next year on jet-powered drones and loitering munitions. Zelenskyy said captured North Korean soldiers had trained as drone operators and against electronic warfare, knowledge he warned could spread widely at home. He said he does not know about ballistic missiles but thinks Russia is sharing them too. He said the U.S. is proposing a trilateral technical meeting by the end of October, which Ukraine supports. A Russian drone struck Kyiv's Pivnichnyi Bridge on Sunday.
