Zoos Plan Halloween Events Across US
Zoos across the country are marking Halloween with family-friendly Boo at the Zoo events featuring trick-or-treating, costumes, activities and animal-themed attractions. Milwaukee County Zoo will hold Boo at the Zoo on Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24, alongside its first adults-only Spooky Safari on Oct. 22; advance tickets are required. Abilene Zoo’s celebration includes costume contests, a hay bale maze, animal encounters and a parade, while Potter Park Zoo offers free attractions such as treat stations and a maze, with extra activities available for purchase. Lake Superior Zoo’s event runs on three Saturdays—Oct. 10, 17 and 24—with trick-or-treat stations, crafts, games and treats for animals. Honolulu Zoo Society’s Oct. 24 Boos & Brews combines family activities and costume contests with local beer tastings for guests 21 and older, while highlighting Malayan sun bear conservation.
