ICE Agent Shoots Person During Bronx Enforcement Operation
Around 4 p.m. on Oct. 8, 2026, a shooting involving federal law enforcement agents occurred in the Marble Hill neighborhood of the Bronx, near West 225th Street and Marble Hill Avenue. In a 5:24 p.m. post on X, the NYPD said: "At around 4 p.m. today, there was a shooting involving federal law enforcement agents in the Marble Hill neighborhood of the Bronx. The NYPD was not involved in the incident and was not on scene at the time of the shooting. The individual who was shot is at a nearby hospital and is currently conscious and receiving medical attention." the NYPD did not name the agency, and the Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to an inquiry. Reports described the injuries as non-life-threatening. A photo reportedly shown by CNN depicted a bullet fired through the windshield of the individual's car. Officers gathered at the scene, and a large law enforcement presence remained in the neighborhood afterward. Circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear.
