Josh Jacobs Pleads No Contest to Battery Charge, Faces NFL Review

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and criminal-damage-to-property charges stemming from a May altercation at his Wisconsin home. He was found guilty of battery, fined $1,000 plus court costs, and must complete conditions including counseling, supervision, no contact with the alleged victim, restitution and avoiding further offenses for the property-damage charge to be dismissed after a year. The NFL has no timetable for completing its Personal Conduct Policy review, and Jacobs remains on the commissioner’s exempt list, which bars him from practicing or playing but allows him to be paid. A six-game suspension is standard in comparable domestic-violence cases, but no penalty has been announced; Green Bay is expected to rely on Marshawn Lloyd and other running backs for its season opener against Minnesota.
