Bridgeport Man Dies in Single-Car Crash

A 62-year-old Bridgeport man died early Friday after losing control of his vehicle while driving east on Fairfield Avenue, veering onto the sidewalk and striking a light pole and concrete retaining wall near Railroad Avenue. Firefighters freed the trapped driver, who was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. Police are investigating the crash and have not released the man’s identity.
