Four Dead, Child Critical After Houma Stabbings
Authorities in Houma, Louisiana, are investigating stabbing incidents in the Ashland Drive area that left at least four people dead and a juvenile in critical condition. Deputies first found the wounded child with stab wounds and later discovered the bodies of four people The child was airlifted by helicopter to an out-of-area hospital. The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office identified 47-year-old Kaegan Jude Solet as a person of interest and asked the public for information about his whereabouts. Some outlets report that Solet was taken into custody or arrested, while a wire summary states he was sought as a person of interest. No charges have been reported filed against him in the current case. Detectives continue gathering evidence to determine what led to the attacks. Solet was previously arrested in 2019 after a stabbing of a 59-year-old woman at a hotel in Houma, facing one charge of attempted second-degree murder. That 2019 case is not connected to the current investigation.
