Thane Wife Strangles Husband With Cooker Lid
A 30-year-old woman, Sunitadevi Hareram Singh, from Rohtas, Bihar, was arrested in Badlapur East, Maharashtra, for allegedly killing her husband after a domestic dispute over sarees. Police initially registered an Accidental Death Report, but a government hospital post-mortem found the death was unnatural and due to violence, specifically strangulation after being struck with a pressure cooker lid. The accused allegedly attacked her husband, Hareram Kishunji Singh, 35, during a heated argument, with their seven-year-old son reportedly seeking help as the assault unfolded. She allegedly attempted to mislead investigators by telling the landlord that her husband had a heart attack following the quarrel. Investigators and family statements, along with a landlord account, strengthened suspicion against the wife, leading to her remand in police custody until July 29. The case has been reported by multiple outlets, all detailing the same sequence of events and court remand.
