Team USA routs Czechia by 40, finishes group stage unbeaten

Caitlin Clark helped Team USA defeat Czechia by more than 40 points, completing a perfect 3-0 group-stage run and advancing the Americans to the quarterfinals atop Group D. Clark scored nine points and contributed a game-high seven assists, while her plus-22 rating reflected her impact in a balanced lineup in which all 12 players scored. The performance marked a strong response after a narrow, unusually low-scoring win over Italy and showed improved pace, transition play and defensive intensity. Clark said the team’s chemistry is gradually developing, though the roster’s abundance of offensive talent can make it difficult to decide whom to pass to. She also emphasized using quick transitions and easy baskets as Team USA prepares for the elimination rounds after a demanding back-to-back schedule.
