David Silva Returns to Football in Hong Kong
Former Manchester City and Spain midfielder David Silva, 40, has returned to football, signing a short-term deal with newly promoted Hong Kong Premier League side Supreme Sha Tin after retiring in 2023 with a serious knee injury. Silva won four Premier League titles and 11 major honors during a decade at City and was part of Spain’s 2010 World Cup-winning team and two European Championship squads. He will train with Sha Tin and build match fitness before making his debut; reports cite possible appearances from mid-October to November, subject to his fitness. The club is eighth after four matches and says it will assess his condition before deciding how much he plays.
