Colts’ Sauce Gardner Admits Embarrassing Effort Against Commanders
After the Colts’ 30-13 win over Washington in London, cornerback Sauce Gardner called his effort on several plays “embarrassing” and “unacceptable” and vowed it would not happen again. He was criticized for slowing down during an 87-yard catch-and-run by Antonio Williams, which was later nullified by a penalty; Gardner said he saw a flag and assumed Washington had committed a penalty, but stressed that was no excuse for failing to pursue the ball. Gardner also allowed four catches for 117 yards and a touchdown, according to one report. The Colts visit Pittsburgh on Sunday, giving him an immediate opportunity to respond.
