No. 5 Ohio State hosts Maryland for Homecoming after improving to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in Big Ten play with a 31-14 road win over Iowa. Receiver Jeremiah Smith had 11 catches for 206 yards against Iowa and set Ohio State career records for receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches; the Buckeyes have outscored opponents 136-36 over their past three games. Maryland enters on a three-game losing streak after a 48-23 defeat at Nebraska, with coach Mike Locksley taking responsibility and pointing to execution errors, including defensive breakdowns and stalled third-down drives.
