Mickelson Leaves Treatment Program Amid Family Matter
Phil Mickelson, 56, checked into a treatment facility for family trauma and addiction earlier this year and has since left, according to his representatives. He played only one LIV Golf event in 2026, in South Africa, and skipped all four major championships for the first time since 1989. In April he withdrew from the Masters, citing a personal family health matter. In June, reports said he lost membership at The Farms Golf Club after an alleged incident involving a female employee. The club confirmed an incident and a member's removal without naming him. His attorney denied the allegations and said any misunderstanding has been cleared up. Weeks later, Ashley Perez publicly alleged Mickelson propositioned her for sex in 2015. Mickelson has previously acknowledged a gambling addiction. Representatives said: "Recovery is not a straight line." They cited Amy Mickelson's support over their 35-year relationship and said his priority is becoming "the husband, father, and man his family deserves" while attending to a private family health matter. TMZ first reported the treatment stint. No details of the recent treatment or family matter have been disclosed.
