Tennessee Rallies Past Auburn 24-14
No. 17 Tennessee rallied from a 7-3 halftime deficit to beat Auburn 24-14, earning its first SEC win of the season. Senior running back DeSean Bishop had career highs of 220 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries, including 158 yards after contact. Coach Josh Heupel replaced struggling freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon with George MacIntyre, who completed 8 of 10 passes for 86 yards and helped spark the second-half surge. Tennessee’s defense forced three turnovers, including two interceptions of Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown, who also ran for 107 yards and a touchdown. Tennessee is scheduled to visit Arkansas on Oct. 10.
