Korea Fines TikTok and Apple for Data Use

South Korea’s privacy watchdog fined TikTok 10.3 billion won for unlawfully collecting and using behavioral data from about 9.45 million users for personalized ads, due to inadequate user notification. Apple was fined 252 million won for collecting Siri voice recordings and transcripts without consent, with corrective orders and a broader emphasis on overseas data transfers.
