Poll Shows Most Rural Voters See No Local Health Gains From Trump Policies
About half of rural voters identify with the Make America Healthy Again movement, but roughly 8 in 10 say the Trump administration’s health policies have had no effect or a negative effect on health in their communities; 68% of rural MAHA supporters share that view. The poll points to a gap between the administration’s health agenda and rural residents’ perceptions of its local impact. Some MAHA supporters say the administration is moving in the right direction, even if change has been limited so far. Trust in health information is sharply divided by party: rural Republicans reported far greater trust in President Donald Trump and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. than rural Democrats did.
