Legend Biotech names Novartis executive Ingrid Zhang CEO

Legend Biotech appointed Ingrid Zhang as chief executive officer and principal executive officer effective Sept. 15, 2026, ending Alan Bash’s interim tenure. Bash will return to his role as president of the company’s CARVYKTI franchise. Zhang joins from Novartis, where she most recently served as international chief commercial officer and previously led its China and innovative-medicines businesses; she also held senior roles at AstraZeneca, Pfizer and McKinsey. She succeeds Ying Huang, whose July resignation prompted Legend to begin a CEO search, and will oversee a company centered on CARVYKTI, its commercial cell therapy for multiple myeloma, as well as development of new cell-therapy treatments.
