X2 Lawsuits Name Six Flags, Ride Manufacturer

Three lawsuits accuse Six Flags Magic Mountain and X2 manufacturer S&S Worldwide of causing traumatic brain injuries; attorneys say more than 100 additional riders have reported injuries and over 300 people have contacted their firm. Pamela Guillen and Naomi Greer-Wilkinson allege they suffered severe brain bleeding after riding in July and required emergency surgery; court filings say Greer-Wilkinson remains in a vegetative state. Los Angeles attorney Michael Wilk alleges a brain bleed after a February ride required two craniotomies and left him unable to practice law. Plaintiffs’ attorneys argue X2’s speed, forces and independently rotating seats create an unreasonable danger, and allege the park knew of prior injuries and that testing or maintenance contributed; Six Flags says it does not comment on pending litigation. The ride has reportedly been closed since July 12, following an incident involving an unconscious rider, and the claims follow reports of more than a dozen serious incidents and at least two deaths, including a 22-year-old rider who died after a 2022 X2-related brain injury; his family later reached a confidential settlement. The allegations have not been adjudicated.
