Blizzard Announces Animated Diablo Netflix Series, Teases More

Blizzard announced Diablo 5 at BlizzCon 2026, targeting a spring 2029 release, six years after Diablo 4. Set roughly a century after Diablo 4, the game will portray Sanctuary after an apocalypse in which Diablo has prevailed, though gameplay details remain undisclosed. Blizzard also confirmed that an animated Diablo series is in development at Netflix, with no release date, trailer, animation studio or substantial plot details announced. Blizzard President Johanna Faries said potential adaptations of Overwatch, Warcraft and other franchises were under discussion. Additional announcements included a new Amazon class pack for Diablo 4, a Nintendo Switch 2 collection and a retrospective Season 15.

Blizzard's recent games have been mixed so I'm not holding my breath for these adaptations yet.
Overwatch could make for a fun series but I'd rather they focus on getting the Diablo one right first.
I'm excited to see Diablo's dark world come to life in animation, hope they stick close to the lore.
