Children’s National earns 10th straight Honor Roll spot in U.S. News rankings

Children's National in Washington, D.C., earned its 10th consecutive place on the U.S. News & World Report Best Children's Hospitals Honor Roll when the 2026-27 rankings came out on September 15, 2026. The hospital ranked in all 11 specialty services and is the highest U.S. News-ranked children's hospital in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Six programs landed in the national top 10: neurology and neurosurgery at No. 5, neonatology at No. 7, diabetes and endocrinology at No. 7, cancer at No. 7, orthopedics at No. 9, and gastroenterology and GI surgery at No. 9. Behavioral health was named among the top 50 programs for a third year. Cincinnati Children's ranked as Ohio's top pediatric hospital for a fifth straight year. Cincinnati Children's and Nationwide Children's both earned Honor Roll recognition. Dayton Children's earned national recognition in orthopedics and neonatology. Children's National says the Honor Roll goes to only 10 pediatric hospitals nationwide. The Cincinnati Enquirer describes the distinction as the top 11. U.S. News health analysis chief Ben Harder said the rankings highlight standout hospitals in each specialty and region.
