Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, reaffirmed at the 20th National Workshop Balochistan that lasting peace would come from sustained security operations against Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, backed by public support. He warned that foreign-sponsored proxies would be defeated through a firm and decisive military response and that terrorism and its facilitators would be dismantled wherever they threaten Pakistan. Munir described Balochistan as Pakistan’s pride with vast natural resources and a resilient, patriotic people, emphasizing that development initiatives are transforming the province’s socio-economic landscape with an inclusive approach. He commended civil society, academia, media, and youth for aiding national integration and long-term stability, and underscored the necessity of national unity to shape the country’s future. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to Pakistan’s stability, progress, and sovereignty, while security forces vowed to continue anti-terror operations. Across statements, the consistent message was that peace in Balochistan requires coordinated action by the armed forces, law enforcement, and the people, to counter external and internal threats to security and prosperity.
