The racial makeup of the city was 87.3% White, 5.0% Black or African American, 0.0% Native American, 0.7% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 1.6% from other races and 5.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino persons of any race comprised 5.8% of the population.
