Background
Bound for Glory is a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). The event was created in 2005 to serve as the company's flagship PPV event, similar to WWE's WrestleMania, in which wrestlers competed in various professional wrestling match types in what was the culmination of many feuds and storylines that occurred during the calendar year.
On April 9, 2026, TNA announced its event schedule for the remainder of the year. Included in the announcement was Bound for Glory, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 11, at Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, United States.
At Rebellion on April 11, ODB's induction into the TNA Hall of Fame at Bound for Glory was announced. At Slammiversary on June 28, TNA announced Amazing Red's induction into the TNA Hall of Fame. Later that night, Mike Santana announced Konnan's induction into the TNA Hall of Fame.
Storylines
The event will feature professional wrestling matches that involve different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers will portray villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that built tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
At Lockdown on August 23, 2026, Leon Slater defeated Cedric Alexander in a Last Man Standing Steel Cage match to regain the TNA X Division Championship and save the recognition of his initial reign as TNA X Division Champion. Later that night, Slater interrupted The Nemeths' (TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth and Ryan Nemeth) celebration after they won the TNA World Tag Team Championship. Slater confronted Nic and announced that he is invoking Option C to challenge Nic for the TNA World Championship at Bound for Glory. He then relinquished the TNA X Division Championship to make it official. Nic tried to attack Slater, but Slater knocked out The Nemeths instead. On the August 7 episode of Thursday Night Impact!, Slater and Ricky Sosa challenged The Nemeths for the TNA World Tag Team Championship, but Slater and Sosa were unsuccessful after Nic pinned Sosa.
After Leon Slater vacated the TNA X Division Championship to invoke Option C, TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella announced on August 27 that qualifying matches would be held with the winner of each match advancing to a six-way match for the vacant title at Bound for Glory. KC Navarro was the first to qualify, beating Joe Alonzo on the September 3 episode of Impact!.
