Two Motor Vehicle Inspectors Suspended Rampur Checkpost Bribe
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced the immediate suspension of two Motor Vehicle Inspectors at Rampur checkpost after they allegedly harassed a truck driver and demanded a bribe, citing an unlawful ₹22,000 demand and a swift zero-tolerance stance. The Anti-Corruption Branch has launched a criminal inquiry and the matter has been referred for further investigation, with inspectors Nazimul Haque and Anupam Banerjee named in the case.
