Sona Comstar DENSO form two EV powertrain JVs

Indian auto components maker Sona Comstar and DENSO plan two joint ventures to design and manufacture electric and hybrid powertrain systems across 2-, 3-, and 4-wheelers in India. The high‑voltage, liquid‑cooled unit will be owned 51% by DENSO with management control, while the 2/3‑wheeler unit involves transferring Sona’s existing business to a subsidiary, with DENSO taking 49% and Sona retaining 51% and control; both deals are subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions to accelerate India's EV push.
