DRR buys IndyCar charter, plans full-time 2027 return

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has purchased a charter from Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing to return as a full-time IndyCar entrant in 2027, marking the first IndyCar charter sale since the system was introduced. Led by Derek Reinbold after the death of founder Dennis Reinbold, the team will run a single full-time entry while RLL trims to two cars, with decisions on drivers and engine manufacturer still to come as the deal awaits IndyCar approval.
